Mega retailer will brand new gas station operations going forward in a quest for a consistent customer experience.

As part of its strategy to expand its gas station operations at store sites Walmart is making the move to put its brand on future gas operations.
The goal is to "put fuel stations in as many locations as we can," Walmart Spokesperson Randy Hargrove told USA Today.
For the past two decades Walmart's gas stations have been operated by Murphy USA. But Walmart employees will be manning the pumps and the convenience stores that sell the usual gas station amenities as new stations are developed.
Murphy will continue to oversee the stations at the 1,100 stores and will open another 60 but from that point on Walmart will be building out the stations and operating them.
Hargrove told USA Today that establishing Walmart branded gas outside of Walmart stores will create a consistent retail experience for consumers.
