The mattress industry just got a big new competitor as Walmart is moving in.
The mega-retailer has launched its own online mattress brand, according to a New York Times report. The AllswellHome.com product line also includes bedding accessories and has its own website. The brand items will not be available on the retailer's prime online storefront or in its stores, at least not as yet, stated the report.
"This is how great brands get built," Andy Dunn, a founder of Bonobos, which Walmart acquired, and senior vice president of digital brands at Walmart, told the Times. "We are thinking about how we win the future."
