Walmart is adding a pet telehealth perk to its Walmart+ membership program that will give subscribers one year of free access to the virtual service's pet doctors and resources.
It's the latest move by leading retailers to shore up loyalty and membership programs and gain subscribers amid increasing competition, according to a CNBC report.
Walmart+ members will get unlimited access to Pawp's veterinary telehealth via both video and text communication, but there is only a limited time to sign up as the opt-in period will end Nov. 19.
The Walmart+ membership program is just under $100 year and has several perks, just like Amazon's prime membership which is now $139 a year. Most recently Amazon added a year of free GrubHub+ to the perk list.
