The world’s biggest retailer is making a big promise to consumers as the holiday shopping season kicks off. It’s vowing to make shopping easier every day and transform its stores into a winter wonderland providing a festive atmosphere.
In a blog post, Walmart COO Judith McKenna acknowledges holiday shopping can be anything but simple and enjoyable, and a time full of frustration, chaos and stress.
"It’s become a complicated game of figuring out how to get what you want at the best price. And for many people it’s just not fun anymore. That’s why we’re making holiday shopping easier for you every day," McKenna wrote.
In fact it may be the post-holiday time when consumers experience a real change as Walmart will be boosting associate wages, expanding associate training and hiring on 8,000 more department managers.
