Amazon prepping brick-and-mortar bookstore for D.C.

May 18, 2017

Amazon, which built its e-commerce empire on putting the physical bookseller nearly out of business, is now reportedly planning to launch another brick-and-mortar bookstore and this time it's aiming for Washington, D.C.

The online giant has leased 10,000 square feet in Georgetown, according to a Washington Post report, citing Steven Roth, CEO of Vornado Realty Trust, who shared the information with investors.

Amazon already operates physical stores in Boston, Chicago, Seattle, San Diego, and Portland, Oregon.
