Amazon's got big ambitions for cashierless strategy

October 9, 2018

There may just be less than a handful of Amazon Go stores right now, but the number of cashierless retail locations may explode in just a few years.

Amazon is reportedly mulling opening as many as 3,000 locations by 2021, according to a Yahoo finance report, citing people familiar with the strategy.

The first Amazon Go store opened two years ago in Amazon’s hometown, Seattle, and there are now two additional Go stores in Seattle and one in Chicago.
