Australian specialty store inspires shoppers through technology

Choices Flooring, an Australian chain, has created its own store of the future with the help of interactive digital signage by Brisbane-based Prendi. Over the next year, the concept and its accompanying technology will be rolled out to Choices stores across Australia.

The highlight of the store is the "Inspiration Station" that Prendi said combines traditional and digital retail elements through the use of mood boards, interactive touchscreens and design ideas to give customers a personalized and engaging experience, according to a news release.

Using custom software, Prendi created an interface with intuitive navigation that enables users to browse the product range, change the range setting and print or email their chosen selections, while also allowing them to share with decision-makers in other locations.

"We found via research that customers are expecting more when they came into the store, which is what prompted the decision to add more interactivity in stores," said Choices Flooring's marketing manager. "The goal was to bring technology into the store where customers can come in and interact with the products they selected, giving them the best experience in store."
