Baynote, a provider of big data solutions for retail, today announced the release of Baynote VUE, a self-service merchandising application purposely built to equip retail marketing teams with the tools needed to create engaging, revenue-generating online experiences. According to the company, Baynote VUE is the first application of its kind to deliver a simple, consumer-like design that guides users through self-service tasks, provides powerful reporting and data access and delivers the performance of a modern big data engine.
"Every one of our customers has a unique problem to solve," said David Markle, Director of Site Experience at Hayneedle.com. "To be successful, our merchandisers and marketers must have easy-to-use tools that allow them to personalize the customer experience based on consumer behavior and trends in real-time. Baynote's new tool set will help us deliver on that experience."
Baynote VUE is built on a platform that leverages Hadoop and other big data technologies to deliver the scalability and performance required for modern retail. The new platform combines big data storage, processing and machine learning with Baynote's retail algorithms and new real-time server architecture. With this foundation, teams of marketers and merchandisers can deploy merchandising and personalization strategies broadly across a growing number of products, categories, pages and devices with speed and accuracy.
Baynote said it spoke with more than 30 retail merchants such as Hayneedle.com, XO Group and Urban Decay to inform the design of the workflows, reporting specifications and merchandising controls in VUE. To ensure that marketing teams can capitalize on and share the insights provided by the solution, Baynote VUE includes accurate reporting and data access for non-technical users. Users can create and easily export custom reports for analysis in applications like Microsoft Excel or Tableau, or extract larger data sets through an industry standard, secure data API for integration with other corporate business intelligence and web analytics systems.
