DirectBuy debuts app to drive consumer website access, product sales

New mobile app features unique product recommendation service.

DirectBuy is launching a new app for Android and iOS smartphone users that enable product searching, checking out site promotions and placing and tracking orders placed on the retailer’s website.

The My DirectBuy app also features a "I Want That!" capability, allowing members to upload product photos taken from anywhere, online, a hotel lobby, someone’s house or a magazine and the app then provides details on DirectBuy’s related product offerings and recommendations within an hour in most cases.

 "It was important we focus on mobile to further enhance shopping experiences since nearly half of our members use mobile devices to shop our merchandise," said Ted Fay, senior director of digital marketing for DirectBuy, in a company announcement. "Our mobile shopping app gives members instant access to DirectBuy’s savings, service and selection and allows us to always be where the member may need us."
