First Microsoft retail store could open next week

October 14, 2009 by James Bickers — Editor, Networld Alliance

Next week is shaping up to be a big one for Microsoft: Not only is the company preparing to launch its Windows 7 operating system, but according to the Wall Street Journal, it could open the doors on its first branded retail store.

The store, located in Scottsdale, Ariz., could open "on or within days of the launch" of Windows 7, according to a source close to the project.

Microsoft unveiled the logo for the retail stores, along with a photo of one of the first locations being built, back in August.
