Macy's targets millennial consumers with a special shopping experience

Special shopping section will even boast a 'blow dry bar' in the near future.

Retailer Macy's is striving to lure in the millennial consumer at its New York location via a new shopping experience in its basement boasting a wide range of brand merchandise.

The shopping area, dubbed "one below," is hoping that by providing a special product area it can tap millennials, a prime consumer demographic for the retailer, according to a Reutersreport published at Fox Business.

The brand merchandise includes Jessica Simpson, Madonna's Material Girl fashion line and products range from makeup to clothing. In addition to brand names, there is a resting area and even a huge Instagram display where shoppers can see what fellow shoppers are putting in their bags and carts.

The Reuters report notes that a "blow dry bar" will be added to the shopping experience sometime this fall.
