A Walmart in Shrewsbury, Missouri, is pulling out self-checkout kiosks and reinstalling traditional checkout lanes, according to a USA Today report.

"The decision was based on several factors, including feedback from associates and customers, shopping patterns and business needs in this area," Briand Little, a Walmart spokesperson, told the news outlet. "We believe the change will improve the in-store shopping experience and give our associates the chance to provide more personalized and efficient service."

In March Dollar General announced it is pulling self-checkout lanes from 300 locations due to retail theft. In the same month a Target store in Dorchester, Massachusetts reported it had shut down all shelf-checkout kiosks.
