Target debuts mobile payment, contactless card options

Target is rolling out technology that will allow it to accept mobile payments from several major providers, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay as well as contactless payments from American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover.

"Offering guests more ways to conveniently and quickly pay is just another way we’re making it easier than ever to shop at Target," Mike McNamara, Target CIO, stated in a blog post.

Customers with Samsung, iPhone, Android or wearable devices can wave the devices at the checkout scanner. Customers with contactless card can just tap the cards at the checkout.
