Target is integrating inclusive design principles across merchandising, store environments, product development and digital experiences.
The goal is creating solutions that are more usable, innovative and impactful for every guest, regardless of age, ability or background, according to a press release.
The strategy, which includes everything from in-store, digital and product experiences, includes accessible self-checkout with features such as Braille and high-contrast button icons, a headphone jack, physical navigation buttons and custom tactile controller.
Target has partnered with Aira, a service that provides live, visual interpretation for guests who are blind or have low vision. It's available at no cost to guests while they are shopping Target in stores or online.
Target's merchandising and store design practices are aimed at ensuring products and spaces are easy to navigate and understand.
