Wellness water brand tapping AR mirrors for in-store demos, customer engagement

March 26, 2019

In a quest to better understand the customer, Flow Alkaline Spring Water will deploy augmented reality mirrors, using Memomi technology, in the grocery environment come May.

The technology, according to a press release, is the first of its kind to be used in the grocery environment.

The interactive AR experience, using Memomi's Memory Mirrors, will track customer facial expressions and create an immersive experience that consumers can share on social media.

"What inspired me first and foremost to incorporate the technology into our product experience was our 5 million customers," said Nicholas Reichenbach, founder and CEO of Flow Alkaline Spring Water, in the release. "We hear all the time from them how amazing our super water makes people feel and wanted to bring that feeling to life in a fun way."

During in-store demonstrations, a team often takes photos and records a customer’s thoughts on the product, and that information has served as valuable data and inspiration for Flow.

The brand wanted to deepen that experience for the customer and add a new element of excitement into an otherwise routine trip to the grocery store, according to the release. The technology also provides the brand with greater insight on the customer, and the ability to better engage as well as share offers.

"This is the first time we have created an experience like this for a CPG company," said Salvador Nissi Vilcovsky, of Memomi, in the release. "I am thrilled to see our AR technology in the grocery space and am happy that our first foray into this new endeavor will be with an innovative wellness brand like Flow Alkaline Spring Water."
