Nivea promotes products via digital shelf

July 11, 2012

Nivea in Germany is replacing some of its standard in-store product shelves with the digitalmultidisplay shelf-edge display solution designed by Crystal Display Systems Limited, according to a company press release. The brand hopes the long, thin display shelves that feature still images, videos or animated movement between or across multiple displays, will better promote the products in-store.

This Nivea system is controlled over a 3G radio network and displays product information, current campaigns and beauty care tips. The connected system can link the Nivea website and the classic point-of-sale via QR codes etc., creating a "sticky" experience and helping enable brand loyalty, according to the press release.

The system is available as a plug-and-go solution in a custom metal housing or as individual components that the customer can build into his own solution or design its own housing.
