2019 was a banner year for Retail Customer Experience readers hungry for insight, best practices, tips and advice from those in the retail customer experience trenches. Contributors with expertise in everything from delivery and AI to digital signage and marketing, and pretty much any other strategy or technology related to CX shared all year.
As our readers may have missed some of the top popular blog posts here's a recap of those that ranked highest in readership and site traffic. Convenience, robots, cashierless — all big trends in the grocery shopping experience in 2019. As Rupal Shah, head of shopper research at Simpson Carpenter shares, the days of consumers trudging around and getting lost in giant food stores is fast becoming a memory. Now it's all about speed and efficiency and emerging technologies, including augmented reality, all of which are making customer demands reality.
Despite all the naysayers' cries that retail is dying, Arnold CEO Kiran Smith counters that retail is, in fact, thriving and innovating, and no one should be sounding the death knell. The truth, he believes, is that the retail landscape is evolving and consumer preferences are changing.
