Amazon is setting its own Black Friday season, by kicking off holiday deals as November arrives.
"We are counting down to Black Friday 2015 with exciting deals today, and tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and...you get the picture," states an announcement.
In addition, it’s taking the retail Cyber Monday event and turning it into a full week of cyber deals.
"We'll be kicking off Cyber Monday with a week's worth of cyber deals, just in time for you to get back to work after Thanksgiving ... and shop online. Shhh ... we won't tell your boss! You'll find more great deals every day during Cyber Monday Deals Week," notes Amazon in the announcement.
In related retail operations, Amazon is shuttering its Daily Deals as of Dec. 18. Deals already purchased and any deals bought through Dec. 18 will not be affected by the move, states an Amazon note on the Amazon Local site. Consumers will be able to redeem valid vouches after the data and access used or unused vouches as well.
"We are only going to stop selling daily deals for local merchants at local.amazon.com and on the Amazon Local app. Amazon’s Deal of the Day, Gold Box Deals, and Kindle Daily Deals are not affected by this announcement," said Amazon.
The world’s biggest etailer said it is not getting out of the local online commerce business with the move.
"Amazon still helps connect customers to local businesses through a variety of offerings — including Amazon Home Services and Prime Now Restaurants," states the explanatory note.
Amazon launched is local coupon service over four years ago. It is also closing down its credit-card processing business, known as Local Register, which debuted just over a year ago in August 2014.
