New retail trend: 'park-your-husband lounges'

Forbes: When men accompany their ladies on a shopping trip, the last thing stores — and women — want is a nagging, bored husband. After all, the more time consumers spend in a store, the more money they're likely to spend.

Wise retailers are catching on. "Park-your-husband lounges" are slowly making their way into retailers from Bloomingdales to Kohl's. They provide enhanced seating areas, and many serve beverages, supply magazines and even have televisions tuned to news or sports stations. The idea is to keep anything from getting in the way of the household's primary consumer: the female.
