Sometimes it's the simplest things that can prompt a consumer to jump from one retailer or brand to another. One example is the annoying, frustrating product label experience.

Just like a 404 error or a dropped call during a customer service interaction, removing a stubborn label off a product is not something any retail consumer wants to deal with.
Yet as a recent survey reveals, it's a very common issue, and consumers' irritation and aggravation can lead to the consumer going elsewhere when it comes to retail purchases. In fact, 81 percent of consumers polled have experienced an arduous effort in removing a label from a product, and 53 percent noted that once removed, they also had to deal with the label residue left behind.
Those two issues are causing nearly half, 45 percent, of consumers feeling frustrated and annoyed in the product experience.
But there is an option retailers can tap, as an upcoming free webinar reveals. Avery Dennison offers up what it calls a cure to the stubborn sticker syndrome.
During the webinar, "Help Consumers Avoid Stubborn Sticker Frustration," sponsored by Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials, Laura Noll, market research and insights manager, and Agata Kowalska, associate product manager, will discuss common product categories causing the most sticker frustration; how product and price labels enter the packaging value chain; and solutions available to help consumers have a positive experience with a brand.
The webinar is taking place August 29 at 2 p.m. EST.
Noll has more than 20 years experience in the market research field, including research activities for multiple Fortune 500 companies. At Avery Dennison, she provides insights that inform, influence and provide actionable business solutions across brands and business units.
Kowalska has been with Avery Dennison since 2009, working in both the European and North American regional headquarters, and leads the development of segment insights and corresponding innovations, technology trends and new products for the removable labeling portfolio.
