Live webinar: How millennials disrupt shopping and the new world of connected shopping

Retail Customer Experience is hosting a free one-hour webinar focusing on the shifting marketing, merchandising and brand strategies in the quest to attract the millennial consumer

November 25, 2015

If there’s one top buzzword for the retail segment this holiday season it’s 'millennial' and the focus by retailers to grab this valuable consumer segment.

That's just one of several reasons Retail Customer Experience is hosting a free one-hour webinar in December regarding the shifting marketing, merchandising and brand strategies in the quest to attract the millennial consumer.

"Millennials are a strong and powerful influence in the retail segment and are disrupting traditional shopping patterns with their instant, constant connectedness," stated Retail Customer Experience Editor Judy Mottl, who will be moderating the webinar event. “Powered by mobile and social media, they’re skilled at comparison shopping and demonstrate a laser-like focus on finding the best deal," she added in providing scope on the webinar's focus.

As a new Blackhawk study reveals, the primary purchase influence for the millennial consumer is price but a retail strategy must be much more comprehensive than adjusting product pricing. Blackhawk will reveal deeper insight from its study during the webinar, "Millennials Disrupt Shopping: The New World of Connected Shopping," and attendees will have a rare opportunity ask questions on technologies coming into play and trends taking root.

Additional Blackhawk study highlights include:

  • Millennials rank gift cards as the safest method of making online purchases.
  • 89 percent of millennial shoppers use smartphones to connect to the Internet on a daily basis.
  • 55 percent rely on social media as their primary source for shopping news and information, easily out-distancing television, which ranked sixth.
  • 95 percent of millennials have the same or greater sensitivity to price as last year.
  • Google and Amazon are far and away millennials’ preferred method of comparison shopping on smartphones.
  • 88 percent would consider buying online and picking up in-store to save $10 on a $50 item.

The webinar takes place on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. ET. There is no cost to register and click here to sign up.
