ISME: Design of the Times 2009 award winners announced

At this week's In-Store Marketing Expo, a panel of 100 experts picked the year's best retail marketing initiatives in 16 categories.

The winners of the 2009 Design of the Times awards were announced Wednesday night at a bustling reception.

The awards, which cover everything "from pallets to packaging, shippers to signage," are broken down into 16 retail categories, and cover 18 different campaign types (for instance, counter displays, permanent signage, endcaps, etc.).

The overall winner, which received the "Best of the Times" award, was the Rockband 2 Interactive Kiosk, by Design Phase for MTV Games.

Design of the Times awardsPlatinum winners were awarded in the following categories:

Consumer electronics: Rockband 2 Interactive Kiosk (Design Phase, MTV Games)

C-stores: Vitamin Water 10 Floorstand (NYSCO Products, Glaceau)

Fashion: Ed Hardy Watch Display (International Display, Ed Hardy)

Drug stores/health stores: GUM Timer Light Toothbrush Header (Menasha Packaging, Sunstar Americas Inc.)

Mass merchants: SCJ OFF! Clip-On 36-ct. Floor Display (Great Northern Corp., SC Johnson)

Specialty shops: Buell Motorcycle Bike Lift (DCI Marketing, Harley-Davidson)

Supermarkets: Windex Outdoor All-in-One Floorstand (Menasha Packaging, SC Johnson)
